The latest articles posted to the Theologia website are well worth a read. I thought that the latest Rich Lusk essay makes a very important point, namely that salvation (at least as we usually understand the word) was not limited to Jews in the OT. Doug Wilson making the same point in "Reformed" is Not Enough.
There is a real danger that by thinking that the Bible's idea of salvation is merely that of going to heaven when you die we can distort much of the biblical teaching. The Jews were a privileged nation but this does not mean that only Jews would go to heaven when they died. We need to establish a far more nuanced view of salvation, with prophets, priests, kings, land, temple and other motifs.
